Catching Up - Early summer update

The past month has been a busy one for me & Dustin but with early summer approaching and some changes being made in my life, things are slowing down and that is a beautiful thing.

So, what have I been up to?

Drillers Games!

As you might recall, for Valentine's Day I received a 20 ticket voucher package to the Tulsa Drillers and we have been using full advantage of them!

First game was a $1 Beer night sponsered by the DUI guy.



It was also Clunker night where you could win someone else's broken down car. I felt a little ping in my heart when I saw this clunker. A 1998 Saturn SL was the first new car I ever bought. This one didn't make it all the way around the field and had to be retired to the storage shed.





Every Drillers game also includes a mascot race featuring the politically correct characters of The Hot Dog, The Taquito, and an Egg Roll complete with fu man chu & hat.



The next game we went to was a race to get done before storms rolled in. Fortunately, the storms held off but, on the way home we got hit by pea sized hail.




Mayfest!

Mayfest is as annual, you guessed it, May event here in Tulsa. It is similiar to the OKC arts festival but on a smaller scale.

My first experience with a FRIED SNICKERS. I think my face says it all.


Taking place at the same time is the Blue Dome Arts Festival. Blue Dome is a small section of downtown that has a counter culture reputation.



During the Arts Festival it was host to the Art Car Parade!



For those who don't know according to wikipedia an art car is: An art car is a vehicle that has its appearance modified as an act of personal artistic expression. Art car artists usually drive and own their own work. They are sometimes referred to as "Cartists". Art car artists or owners often dress in a matching motif when displaying their cars. Art cars and car artists come from all walks of life, uphold a wide range of personal philosophies and beliefs and come from all political groups.










This was our personal favorite. The Sashimi Tabernacle Choir out of Houston, TX. This guy built this car that is operated by 2 computers to get these fish to sing!

River Parks!

Summer just can't start without a visit to River Parks :)



We saw alot of people walking their dogs and then we met this guy. He's some sort of African Desert Tortoise, not turtle, a tortoise.
